In the pursuit of Economic Progress and Development, the Environment was ignored and we are now realizing the adverse impact in terms of global warming, ozone layer depletion, health effects and reduction in quality of life. “There is enough in this world for everybody’s need but not for everybody’s greed.” said Mahatma Gandhi who had the vision to propose a concept of self-sustaining village as against the modern way of manufacturing. Off late sustainable development has become the key-word for the leadership all over the world. In the corporate world including the real estate sector, Environment Management and Sustainable Development are being given increasing importance. There is a great need to train the manpower in and for these areas. Therefore, a one day national seminar cum training program is organized in Pune for the personnel from Industry, Building Construction, Government and Municipal bodies, academic institutes and students. A similar program organized in Mumbai in September 2006 received great response.
The program will include deliberations from experts in the field. The topics covered will be Environment Management System ISO 14001, Occupational Health & Safety, Environment Audit & Due Diligence, Environment Management Information System, Applications of Solar Energy and Eco-Housing. Besides this there will be demonstration of software developed by Prachi Services.
